Holy Kaw! I'm on AllTop -- check out these top categories for tech authors
Tech-writing.AllTop.com to be precise. It's early days for this blog and getting on AllTop assures me that my writing is useful to people, or at least worth looking at. I'm excited to be there. Each AllTop page is like an RSS reader ready-configured with the best blogs on a given topic. It's the first place I look when I want something stimulating to read. It means I get to see a wider variety of interesting stuff, and my own RSS subscriptions are under control because I can remove anything that's not 100% essential. If you're an enthusiastic computer book author, article writer, or blogger than these are the categories you should check out in addition to tech writing:
- Egos -- you can learn a lot about style and engagement from the successful ego bloggers. These blogs show how to write like a star.
- Freelance -- a lot of freelance involves writing, and there are as many blogs with practical writing advice here than there are on the tech-writing category.
- Content Marketing -- more about writing here, mainly focused on writing promotional stuff and very handy
- The whole "tech" section -- there are categories here for WordPress, Content Management, VoIP, Linux, Programming, and 100 or so more tech topics
- Lifehacks -- as well as always containing some useful advice, the best lifehack blogs shows how to write compelling "how to" content
There's even a Posterati category for Posterous users -- hopefully the next stop for this blog.
If you use AllTop, please tell us your own favorite categories. If you don't use it, visit it today -- it's addictive.
